IGRT (IMAGE GUIDED RADIOTHERAPY) CONFERENCE THE NEXT 15TH OF FEBRUARY, ORGANIZED BY IMOR FOUNDATION, MEDICAL INSTITUTE FOR RADIOTHERAPY AND ONCOLOGY FROM BARCELONA.

The 15th of february, at the Centro Cardiovascular Sant Jordi auditorium, at Barcelona, it will take place the Ist IGRT (Image Guided RadioTherapy) Conference, organized by the IMOR Foundation, Medical Institute for Radiotherapy and Oncology. Distinguished speakers, from spain and abroad, will present their experience and results on this state of the art radiotherapy technology, that suposses a major advance in the quality and precision of radiotherapy delivery. Specially interesting will be he presentations given by Dr. Omar Salazar, director of the Radiotherapy and Oncology Departament at Royal Oakwood Hospital of Detroit (USA), who will present his experience and results in IGRT and by Dr. Jean-Bernard Dubois, from Val d’Aurelle Hospital at Montpellier (France), who will discuss about intraoperative radiotherapy and radiosurgery.

IGRT is used for radiotherapy of abdominal tumors, mainly for prostate tumors, but it can be used wherever high precision treatment delivery would be necesary as for head and neck or brain tumors.

The conferences will start at 4.oo pm. At 8.00 pm a guided tour by the IMOR Foundation instalations will be given.
